NYC Workers Take Charge

The Transport Workers' Union held a protest, starting yesterday, which results in the shutting down of the cities subway system. They claim to be mistreated by their management and want change. NYC, however, has a law stating public employees cannot strike. For this, the union is being fined $1 million dollars for every day that they are not working.

This display of courage by these workers show that they do in fact have the power to shut down huge cities, such as New York. Hopefully this will become an example to other workers that they do not need to obey their oppressor; they have the power for change and should exercise that right.

Thank you members of the Transport Workers' Union for your brave acts for workers all around the United States and the world.
